More than 700,000 nationwide. Nearly 8,000 in Georgia.
Only 45-50 percent of the necessary families to serve them.
The number of foster children needing care, and the lack of
available foster families, at first seems overwhelming.
However, there are more than 400,000 Christian churches in our
country, serving an estimated population of more than 100 million
evangelical Christians. That's potentially 350 Christians for every
foster child. Or conversely, two foster children for each
church.
FaithBridge Foster Care encourages you to join us in solving our
country's foster care crisis.
Our strategy outlines a process to move "from crisis to
community" and
our model creates Communities of CareSM. We bring
together child welfare agencies and workers,
local churches,
foster families and trained
volunteers to ensure the best possible placement for each
child. Together, we can restore our communities and families.
