More than 660,000 nationwide per year and 400,000 per day. Nearly 8,000 in Georgia. Only 45-50 percent of the necessary families to serve them. The number of foster children needing care, and the lack of available foster families, at first seems overwhelming.

However, there are more than 400,000 Christian churches in our country, serving an estimated population of more than 100 million evangelical Christians. That's potentially 350 Christians for every foster child. Or conversely, two foster children for each church.

FaithBridge Foster Care encourages you to join us in solving our country's foster care crisis. Our strategy outlines a process to move "from crisis to community" and our model creates Communities of CareSM. We bring together child welfare agencies and workers, local churches, foster families and trained volunteers to ensure the best possible placement for each child. Together, we can restore our communities and families.

Step 1:

Complete Encounter FaithBridge

Encounter FaithBridge is our orientation to Christian foster care ministry. You can get started one of three ways:

  • Complete the information session online,
  • Request a one-on-one meeting with a FaithBridge associate at a time and location of your choosing
  • Or, register for an upcoming Encounter FaithBridge at.

Step 2:

Complete FaithBridge Foundations

FaithBridge Foundations training is an intensive, multi-day event designed to prepare a couple for the physical, emotional and spiritual demands of foster care.

Complete Support Team Volunteer Training

If you are unable to be a foster or respite parent but would like to participate in foster care ministry, FaithBridge Foster Care welcomes support team volunteers with a variety of interests and skills to participate as members of our Community of Care.

**Begin your volunteer approval paperwork and pring it with you to volunteer training. Alos, please bring a photo copy of your driver's license and a copy of your auto insurance when you arrive to volunteer training.**
