Coalition of Rome Churches
Hold Foster Care Program Events
Public Invited
to Attend Trainings in September and October
Rome, GA - September 9, 2010 - Project127Rome,
a coalition of eight churches in Rome, is holding foster care
orientations and training this fall to educate and train area
residents who are interested in its foster care program. Floyd
County has Georgia's largest number per capita of foster children
who need a home.
The orientation will be held Monday,
September 27, 2010, from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. at West Rome Baptist
Church, located at 914 Shorter Avenue. Monday, October 11
from 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. there will be a volunteer training at Lakeview
Baptist Church, followed by an Impact Training weekend October 15
and 16 at Fifth Avenue Baptist Church. There are many ways to
get involved, including fostering, volunteering to assist with
clothing, material goods, transportation, and more. For
more information on these events, visit www.faithbridgefostercare.org or call 678.332.8386.
The eight church partners include First
Presbyterian Church, Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, Hollywood Baptist
Church, Lakeview Baptist Church, Three Rivers Community Church,
Seven Hills Fellowship, the Church of Northside Rome, and West Rome
Baptist Church.
The coalition launched its Christian foster
care program in January 2010. The coalition hopes to increase
the awareness of the program, as well as the number of interested
foster parents and volunteers, at these fall events.
This ministry is in partnership with
