FaithBridge Foster Care honors Wayne E. Stolz with the
inaugural "Standing in the Gap" award
FaithBridge Foster Care recently presented co-founder and
dedicated board member Wayne E. Stolz with the inaugural
Standing in the Gap award, honoring his visionary
leadership to the organization and his commitment to foster
children and families.
In anticipation of National Foster Care Month (May), FaithBridge
CEO Bill Hancock presented the award at a special ceremony and
commented, "I am truly humbled to recognize Wayne for the work he
has done to realize our biblical mandate of caring for our
community's families and children. It's an honor for me to work
alongside him as we aim to realize the vision of changing the way
America does foster care."
Stolz is a retired IBM executive who has devoted much time to
volunteer activity, missions work, and serving on the boards of
several non-profits. In addition to co-founding and serving as the
chairman of the board of trustees for FaithBridge, he served on the
board of directors for a group home for boys in northwest Georgia,
served as chairman of the missions committee for his 9,000-member
church. planned and led more than ten domestic and international
mission trips and provided project and construction management for
the building of numerous Habitat for Humanity houses. Prior to his
retirement in 2001, Stolz gathered over 30 years experience as a
business executive, consultant and project manager in the
information technology consulting business. He and his wife have
two children and four grandchildren.
The FaithBridge Foster Care Standing in the Gap Award
is presented to individuals who have committed themselves to
"bridging the gap" between the large societal crisis of foster care
and families in need. The recipient works to change the way America
does foster care.
