MILTON - Bill Hancock, founder, CEO and
president of FaithBridge Foster Care will be interviewed at
Stonecreek Church in Alpharetta/Milton on Sunday, July 4 at 10:30
a.m. The church at 13540 Ga. 9 in Milton is also presenting Simply
Summer Gatherings for the month of July with At The
Movies.
The movie of the week is "The Blind Side" which is about the power
of a foster family on a child or young person. and Hancock will be
informally interviewed by Ryan Martin, director of operations at
Stonecreek about FaithBridge's mission in foster care.
"Nothing shapes our culture quite like the movies, and movies help
us uncover our story, face hard questions, consider our past and
stir our unspoken hopes and desires," said Martin. "During our At
The Movies series we will engage with stories from the big screen
that have something to say about the bigger story of God's work in
restoring life.
"People will watch the movie, then join us on Sunday mornings to
see clips and hear from someone who is actually doing something
about the issue. FaithBridge is the call to action for foster
care."
Martin had heard Hancock speak at a FaithBridge orientation and
was moved by his story and his cause. He introduced Hancock to the
church leadership team, where Hancock shared his story of how and
why he started FaithBridge, and it was a natural fit for the movie
"The Blind Side."
There are more than 10,000 Georgia children in foster care. In
addition, there are less than half of the necessary foster families
to serve them. Currently FaithBridge has more than 63 foster and
respite homes serving children and families from birth to 18, and
is increasing monthly.
To date, more than 150 children have been served in FaithBridge
communities.
