In order to begin Foundations Training, you must have completed Encounter FaithBridge Orientation. All foster parents are required to complete Foundations Training in order to obtain their foster care license through FaithBridge. The training includes 6 in-person training sessions. The 6-sessions are divided into two different types of training environments: classroom training held at a local church and one-on-one personalized training held in the foster home. Once you complete the classroom portion of the training at a local church, a FaithBridge staff member will schedule the remaining individualized training sessions in your home. FaithBridge Foundations Training is designed to prepare foster parent applicants for the physical, emotional and spiritual demands of caring for foster children. The training covers important topics while helping families examine their hearts to determine if they are called to foster.

'Reframing Foster Care' The author of this book, Jason Johnson, will be sharing how to filter your foster parenting journey through the lens of the Gospel. Foster parents face a unique set of circumstances and experience a wide array of emotions that few can relate to. Their journey is one of equal parts beauty and brokenness, joy and heartache, excitement and exhaustion. There is no textbook on how to be a foster parent, no formula, no simple three-step guide. But there is hope in Gods capacity to bring great beauty out of tragic brokenness. This is the gospel the lens through which you can filter your foster parenting journey and ultimately find the strength, motivation, and courage you need to be sustained along the way.

Talk With Me Baby Live Webinar The brain undergoes its most rapid development during the first three years of life, making infancy and early childhood a period of both great vulnerability and opportunity. Young children in foster care have often suffered from environments that do not nurture brain development and many of these children have experienced exposure to trauma, toxic stress and/or traumatic separation. Case Workers and foster parents, therefore, represent a strategic workforce and group to engage in an effort to ensure that all children including our most vulnerable receive abundant language nutrition.
