Mt. Bethel Called to Care Ministry will be hosting an informative evening and discussion on how you can be a part of the growing effort to solve the orphan problem. Their guest speaker will be Bob Bruder-Mattson, President and CEO of FaithBridge Foster Care (https://www.faithbridgefostercare.org/). Bob will discuss the orphan problem that exists both locally and globally, as well as the many new opportunities available to us today to remedy that problem. Topic: A World Without Orphans There will be limited child care available. To check the availability of child care please email stephaniekwatts@gmail.com. Please be sure to email her so they are able to adequately prepare for those who need child care well in advance.

In order to begin Foundations Training, you must have completed Encounter FaithBridge Orientation. All foster parents are required to complete Foundations Training in order to obtain their foster care license through FaithBridge. The training includes 6 in-person training sessions. The 6-sessions are divided into two different types of training environments: classroom training held at a local church and one-on-one personalized training held in the foster home. Once you complete the classroom portion of the training at a local church, a FaithBridge staff member will schedule the remaining individualized training sessions in your home. FaithBridge Foundations Training is designed to prepare foster parent applicants for the physical, emotional and spiritual demands of caring for foster children. The training covers important topics while helping families examine their hearts to determine if they are called to foster.

If you are unable to be a foster or respite parent but would like to participate in foster care ministry, FaithBridge Foster Care welcomes support team volunteers with a variety of interests and skills to participate as members of our Community of Care. Support team volunteer training is an information session designed to best prepare you for the physical, emotional and spiritual demands of foster families and the children they serve. In order to attend Volunteer Training, you must have completed Encounter training.
